Halloween & Sex Offenders
Halloween & Sex Offenders
Here in Maryland, there is a law that all sex offenders must post a sign on their door that states "No candy at this residence", they are also instructed to stay inside the home and turn off outside lights.
What do you think about this? I personally think it's a good idea; it will stop them from having children at their doors and have them on the street while kids are out enjoying Halloween.
I walk my kids from house to house, but I see MANY little children who are unattended, esp. little girls. They are dressed in the latest "big girl" fashions and in my opinion, are dressed too revealing, even for a costume. I get so upset seeing this and I wonder where their parents are.
We live in such a different time, even so, when I was growing up, we still had the threats of tainted candy, but we knew little of the "sex offenders" that lived in our neighborhood.
Family Watchdog is a very informative site; it gives you a map of your area and addresses of convicted sex offenders. Please go there and check out your neighborhood to keep your children safe this holiday season.
